Winter Wonderland

What an amazing and wonderful Holiday Season we had!

After baking 14 giant snowmen sugar cookies with Travis (what a good sport) and getting all ready to do Sydney's class Christmas party, she got sick just as I arrived to do her party. She was so sad which definately made me sad but luckily it didn't last long.

Sydney, Jonah and I hosted a Gingerbread House-Making Party which was so much fun! It was the 1st annual party and thanks to some of the other moms that stayed to help, it was a great success! Here are a few pictures from that: Jonah was a huge help and was my right-hand man!

My Dad and Step-mom came to visit the weekend before Christmas and we had such a great time! Travis and I had them, his parents, my aunt and uncle and my sweet grandma over for a big supper. Travis made a very yummy pheasant dish.  We played a few games and then opened some presents. We are blessed with such loving parents!

The kids just loved being home with no place to go and really enjoyed playing together and surprisingly didn't fight!  They played out in the snow about everyday eventhough it was only about 5 degrees with the windchill below zero.  I am a big baby and stayed inside most of the time.  Travis helped the kids build a snowman.

Christmas Eve was a fun day together.  We opened presents at home, my Mom came over to exchange gifts too. Travis spoiled me and broke our rule of just giving little gifts to each other this year!  The kids loved everything they received and were so sweet and thankful.  We went to Travis's parents later that afternoon to play games, eat lots of yummy food and open more presents.  Very fun!!  We also went to church that evening and it was a beautiful service focused on the true meaning of Christmas, Christ!  I went to bed that evening full of love and thankfulness for how far God had brought me and blessed me.  I truly love my life and cherish days like today.

Santa came (I can tell Sydney has serious doubts in Santa but Jonah is a good sport and doesn't spoil it, at least for one more year) and we all got goodies in our stockings!  We had a very lazy Christmas day and then went to a Hargitt family Christmas put on by Travis's grandparents.  It was a lot of fun!

That was our Christmas in a nutshell!  I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday Season as well!!
